Angelo Galasso: The Da Vinci of Shirts
Angelo Galasso, born in 1959 in Francavilla Fontana, Italy, grew up in a middle-class family with a police commander father and a literature teacher mother. His early passion for fashion led him to design unique shirts in his Parioli apartment, named Interno 8, while working in banking after moving to Rome in 1984. In 1990, he left banking to focus on Interno 8, opening his first store and expanding to 80 locations across Italy. His innovative Watch-Cuff shirt earned him the nickname “Da Vinci of Shirts” from the Financial Times. Later, he co-founded Billionaire Italian Couture with Flavio Briatore and launched his eponymous brand, Angelo Galasso.
Redefining the Art of the Shirt
Angelo’s approach to shirt-making was not just about fashion, it was about craftsmanship, about honoring the traditions of the past while innovating for the future, “tradition in evolution.” He believed that every detail, no matter how small, told a story.

The Removable Collar Stay
“A collar should stand as proud as the man wearing it.” Angelo would say. His removable collar stay ensured that every shirt retained its sharpness, a quiet rebellion against the sagging collars of ordinary designs.

9 Stitches per Centimeter
“Strength lies in the details,” he often reminded his design team. With 9 stitches per centimeter, his seams were not just stronger, they were a testament to the artistry of the human hand.

The Tear-Resistant Side Gusset
Inspired by bespoke tailoring, Angelo introduced a side gusset that whispered durability and reliability, ensuring his shirts could withstand the test of time.

The Square Button Detail
A refined square, hand-secured, an elegant mark of craftsmanship.

The Internal Collar Button
“A collar should frame the face, not fall away from it,” Angelo believed. His internal collar button was a quiet guardian of elegance, keeping the collar’s shape intact.
